What if I want to take a course somewhere else to transfer in?
You can check the “transfer credit equivalency” at https://registrar.ua.edu/ to see how your classes should transfer in. If you are taking a general education or “core” class, you can then check the “core curriculum courses” at https://registrar.ua.edu/ to make sure it is listed under the desired category. There are limits to how many transfer credit hours can be applied to your degree; view the transfer policy in the UA Undergraduate Catalog.
How do I generate a letter of transiency? Log in to myBama to complete a letter of transiency (found under the “Student” tab), which is essentially a contract between you and the University granting you permission to take a specific course at another school. Once your classes are completed, you will need to contact the other institution and ask for a transcript to be sent to UA. For more information, please see here: https://registrar.ua.edu/student-services/transfer-credit/ .
